BOOK : “Physics of the Future” by Michio Kaku

physicsofthefuturePhysics Professor Michio Kaku has written a pretty inspiring (and easy to read) book on the scientific advances that will help drive world changing shifts in culture, climate, medicine, computers, society and exploration. What I like the most about this is it isn’t just a bunch of his ideas, but rather the product of numerous interviews and combined ideas from more than 300 experts, scientists, and researchers at the cutting edge of their fields. The scope is over the next 100 years, so the predictions range from familiar to outrageous (but plausible).

I’m sure you’ll have no trouble coming up with wild new ideas after reading this.

Predictions 2015

Given where we’re at, here’s what I’m thinking we’ll all see over the course of this year…

  • Single true breakthrough among the sea of dorky and bizarre wearable computing products
  • Cloud-based subscriptions required for anything you really care about
  • Movement away from “pure flat” design treatments to more “photorealistic flat”
  • Continued disregard for any real privacy or security concerns by consumers
  • Electric car recharging stations forcing you out of your favorite parking spots
